Gender Support Sessions

Through virtual or in-person gender support sessions, I create a space for you to explore and examine all aspects of gender/identity/transitioning while providing positive and uplifting support for this process. Each session is uniquely tailored to your specific needs and explorations while using the tools of intention setting and action steps to meet and achieve your goals. I incorporate community resources into our work and am a trauma-informed provider. I strive for you to thrive in all aspects of your life.

Being queer/transgender/gender diverse and living in a cis-gender, heteronormative society can be extremely challenging and isolating at times. Navigating societal, interpersonal and internal dialogues along any step of the gender journey can feel like a lot without the support of someone who has also lived through a similar experience. I like to think of gender as a life-long exploration that continues to blossom each day. As a non-linear process, there are many ups and downs along the way. I am here to encourage you to grow and bloom into your best self through our explorations together.

*For those who are looking for more in-depth training on how to genuinely hold space for transgender & gender diverse friends/family/colleagues/clients, please see the Beyond the Binary workshop or Coaching Sessions for allies

**Interviewed for TransLash magazine about life as a gender support coach!**

Some examples of gender support I provide:

  • Exploring new pronouns/names

  • Gender affirming surgery preparation

  • Navigating restrooms & other gendered environments

  • Acclimating to HRT

  • Relationship building / communication strengthening

  • Complexities of intersecting identities and navigating systems of oppression

More specific examples:

  • How to choose specific gender-affirming products such as an STP

  • New grooming practices

  • Where to buy clothes/which brands

  • Losing access to gender binary spaces

  • Navigating privilege/power dynamics

  • When passing feels good and when it doesn’t

  • Exploring changes with sexuality, attraction, and pleasure

How is Gender Support coaching different from therapy?

I am here to meet you where you currently are in life and assist you in the process of meeting your goals on the path you envision yourself walking. I am here to witness, support and validate you, create a container for inspiration and tangible action steps to achieve your life's desires and encourage you with positivity along the way. I am a trauma-informed provider, however I do not process past trauma, diagnose you or provide any medical advice. Although the past is always relevant to how we got here today, I am here to work with you in your present state.

What will the sessions look like?

In our first session I will ask you about your goals and intentions for our work together. We will then build off of that to either come up with an action plan, talk you through a given situation, give you tools and resources for navigation, allow space for you to explore parts of yourself you’ve been desiring to live etc. I will listen, ask questions at times and likely give you homework at the end of each session. Depending on the frequency of the sessions and what you would like to achieve, we will either build off of the last session or start fresh with a new topic each time.

RATES:

Capitalism at large fails to incorporate the many variables that reflect how wealth distribution works. Many marginalized people experience intersectionality, multiple overlapping oppressed identities working against them. These identities can impact access to resources and wealth-building in profound ways. I have a sliding scale model to provide a range of access with the above variables in mind.

Rates for 60 min virtual or in=person sessions are: $100-$125

 About Luigi:

I began working as a gender support coach in 2017 after a lifelong journey as a trans/non-binary queer person. I was in a place of “coming out” for many years while uncovering the multifaceted layers of my own gender. I am a licensed healthcare provider in WA and have taken many leadership classes along my journey. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have worked with many teachers, healers and therapists who have offered me invaluable tools for myself and to share with others on similar paths. It feels natural for me to share my lived experience with other QTGNC when necessary and provide support where needed for others on their journey.

I’ve always admired and looked to queer elders for encouragement and to think about their journeys as well: the tough paths they’ve walked in order to pave the way for us. To this day, Stone Butch Blues (Leslie Feinberg RIP) remains one of the core inspirations for my journey and I couldn’t be more grateful for how brave they were to share their story living in very different times.

I have also built a thriving bodywork practice since 2015 as a Licensed Massage Therapist who works with our community in pre-post surgery preparation and a variety of other gender-affirming, trauma-informed, body-positive hands on bodywork in Seattle & Tacoma WA. It is with great pleasure to serve the community through gender support and bodywork while providing a welcoming and uplifting environment for everyone on their unique and beautiful journey.
