Trauma-Informed Approach

There can be many contributing factors that make up each person’s experience of the world. For many of us, trauma is very much a part of that everyday experience and can show up in different ways throughout our lifetime. My goal as a provider is to create an open conversation and trusted relationship with you over time and be a positive participant in your healing process. We are all made up of our collective experiences over time and I view our work together from a whole person/complete picture lense.

Some additional ways I approach our work together:

  • Listening to your needs and validating your experiences

  • Transparency with what to expect during the treatment and obtaining your consent beforehand - there will never be any surprises when you are on the table.

  • In whatever state you show up in is exactly perfect and I will hold grounded space for you in the present

  • Close attention to any areas that are sensitive to touch or not comfortable with touch.

  • Ensuring there is plenty of time to answer any questions before and after the session.

  • At any time during the treatment all things can be adjusted to fit your comfort: temperature, lighting, music, manual pressure etc. If asking for adjustment of sensory items isn’t possible for you I will check in with you to ensure everything is comfortable

  • Any and all feelings that may come up during the treatments are absolutely welcomed.

  • Undressing to your own comfort level, I can work over clothing as well

  • Maintaining a steady, spacious and relaxed pace to assist your nervous system in unwinding.

  • The sessions always end on time to respect your schedule.

I am always happy to chat more about trauma-informed care, what the sessions look like or any other questions. I enjoy open and authentic conversation and look very forward to working with you.
